The concept is straightforward:

 

● Music, including the ability to recall and perform it, is one of the last things to go in dementia. (If you’ve seen some of Tony Bennett’s late-life performances, you’ll understand.)

● The chorus is led by an experienced music director and piano accompanist.

 

● The music is typically popular songs from the ‘50’s through ‘’80s, famous show tunes, well-known hymns, and other pieces.

 

● The chorus is made up of the singers with dementia, who we call Key Singers, and their caregivers, as well as volunteer singers from groups in the area.
