Early in 2025, a musician very close to our hearts, living with dementia, felt that he had to retire from a lifetime of performing and delighting audiences. But as his musical skills were undiminished, he wanted to stay engaged in music.
Looking for ways where people dealing with cognitive issues could continue making music in an enjoyable and creative environment, we found the Giving Voice Chorus, a Minnesota-based organization which inspires many such groups around the country.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
We are getting famous! Check out what The Villages Daily Sun is saying about us.
Our mission is to empower persons with dementia and their care partners by bringing them together to create and share music. Through the transformative and unifying act of making music, we affirm the enduring human capacity for creativity, joy, and connection. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, we challenge stigma, build understanding, and inspire hope for all those living with dementia.
