Melodies in Mind has a special mission:
Empower singers with dementia

Yes, It’s possible, and it is flourishing in many parts of the country.

Here’s an example. Hopefully, you'll be motivated to join us!

The concept is straightforward: ● Music, including the ability to recall and perform it, is one of the last things to go in dementia. (If you’ve seen some of Tony Bennett’s late-life performances, you’ll understand.) ● The chorus is led by an experienced music director and piano accompanist. ● The music is typically popular songs from the ‘50’s through ‘’80s, famous show tunes, well-known hymns, and other pieces. ● The chorus is made up of the singers with dementia, who we call Key Singers, their care partners, and (here’s where you come in) --- Chorus Partners.

Your love for music can help people living with dementia.

Chorus Partner Role
